Second Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony Another Success

SALEM, OR—June 27, 2026—The Oregon Conservative Caucus (OCC) held its second annual dinner and awards ceremony at the Hood River Inn in Hood River on June 27. The event also celebrated America's 250th birthday.

Between sponsorships, silent auction items, and an exciting live auction, the event once again earned a five-digit fundraising haul. Proceeds go toward GOTV and voter registration efforts.

The annual report focused on milestones met over the past year. OCC has nearly doubled its membership since last year, switched from a county to a regional structure, and now has members in all of Oregon’s 36 counties. A year of work, also resulted in OCC having a significant role in flipping Tillamook County from blue back to red.

Max Sherman, Republican Oregon House candidate from HD32, spoke about his campaign to defeat Cyrus Javadi who switched from Republican to Democrat in the middle of his term. Managing Editor of RedState, Jennifer Van Laar, flew in from out of the area to serve as keynote.

The Rising Flame Awards went to Bob Spicher of Multnomah County, Mike Dubrasich of Linn County, and Robyn McLean of Wasco County. The Blaze Awards went to Mike and Carol Williams of Marion County, Laurie Kimmell and Rick Coufal from Deschutes County, and Greg and Jeannie Tenney from Crook County. Marion County’s Becky Mitts earned the Chair’s Award, OCC’s equivalent of an MVP recognition. Becky serves as Chair of OCC's Western Region.

OCC, an all-volunteer 501(c)(4) nonprofit, was founded in 2024 with a focus on registering Republicans, getting out the vote, and grassroots education. More information can be found at www.OregonConservativeCaucus.com.
