Attorney Ray Hacke Appointed to OCC Advisory Board

Updated: Jun 12

SALEM, OR—June 12, 2025—Last night, Salem-area attorney Ray Hacke was appointed to the Oregon Conservative Caucus (OCC) Advisory Board by a unanimous vote of its Board of Directors. The advisory board, referred to as the OCC-13, is composed of experts in 13 vital policy areas that affect the state. Hacke will focus on First Amendment issues.

Hacke also serves as a volunteer affiliate attorney for the Pacific Justice Institute, and heads that organization’s Oregon office. He has been instrumental in winning court cases that protect the civil rights of Oregonians and non-Oregonians for many years. An award-winning sportswriter before becoming an attorney, Hacke felt compelled to switch careers because he saw that religious liberty was under attack.

Says Hacke, "I've never been afraid of uphill battles, especially ones that need to be fought. Flipping Oregon red certainly seems like an uphill battle. But it's one that can be won and needs to be for the sake of Oregonians who are tired of one-party rule. My hope is that in serving on the Oregon Conservative Caucus' advisory board, we can effect positive change, lasting change that will get our state trending back in the right direction on such issues as abortion, keeping boys out of girls' sports, and religious freedom."

“It became clear when Ray spoke at our recent annual event that he would be an ideal fit for our organization. His track record and ideals are superb,” states co-chair Solomon Yue.

Hacke replaces former advisory board member, Judge Vance Day, who resigned back in February to join the Trump administration. Day now serves as Deputy U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche’s senior counsel, helping to direct DOJ policy.

OCC, an all-volunteer 501(c)(4) nonprofit, was founded in 2024 with a focus on registering Republicans, getting out the vote, and grassroots education. More information can be found at www.OregonConservativeCaucus.com.
