OCC Creates Joel Pawloski Memorial Scholarship

SALEM, OR—August 14, 2025— The Oregon Conservative Caucus (OCC) Board of Directors – Kerry McQuisten, Solomon Yue, Jean Sampson, Russ Walker and Randy Pullen – are pleased to announce the creation of the Joel Pawloski Memorial Scholarship.

The Board voted unanimously last night to create this scholarship to honor the memory of the organization’s late president of the Oregon Conservative Caucus of Marion County, Joel Pawloski, who recently succumbed to lung cancer.

The $1,000 scholarship, to be awarded annually, will be open to pre-registered and registered Republicans in Oregon who are entering a college, university, or trade school for the first time. Immediate family members of the OCC Advisory Board or Board of Directors are ineligible for consideration. Applications will open by the summer of 2026 with the scholarship to be dispersed in time for the fall 2026 school year. More details about the application process will be released at a later date, and will be consistent with the organization’s mission including registering new voters and promoting conservative values in Oregon.

OCC, an all-volunteer 501(c)(4) nonprofit, was founded in 2024 with a focus on registering Republicans, getting out the vote, and grassroots education. More information can be found at www.OregonConservativeCaucus.com.
