SALEM, OR—June 4, 2025—Two members of the Oregon Conservative Caucus, husband and wife Michael and Yvonne Stoffey, ran for and were elected to two local boards in Marion County during last month’s special election.
Michael Stoffey was officially sworn in as Director for Position 4 on the Marion County Fire District No. 1 Board of Directors during the public Board of Directors meeting on April 24, 2025, serving in the interim until official results of the May 20, 2025, Special District Election are certified. He garnered over 98% of the vote in that race. The Board of Directors is responsible for policy-making, strategic oversight, and financial stewardship of the district, which serves more than 59,000 residents across 88 square miles from eight fire stations.
“My duty is to ensure the district remains fiscally sound, operationally strong, and community-focused,” says Michael Stoffey. “I take this responsibility seriously and will continue to advocate for clear planning, accountability, and support for our frontline responders.”
Yvonne Stoffey also received over 98% of the vote in the Suburban East Salem Water District Director, Position 5 race. The Suburban East Salem Water District has served the area since 1956, sourcing its water from the City of Salem, which draws from the Santiam River. The District operates as an independent local government entity providing critical utility services to a fast-growing region.
“I am honored to serve the residents of the Suburban East Salem Water District,” says Yvonne Stoffey. “I’m committed to promoting transparency and fiscal responsibility, and ensuring our community has access to safe, reliable water now and in the future.”
